We are very proud to be the only official partner of H-MAT in an effort to introduce and expand this scheme-oriented way of teaching mathematics, a.k.a. the Hejny Method, in Slovakia. The aim of the project is to establish this innovative concept of teaching mathematics in Slovak schools, which is also applicable in other subjects and in a broader context.
The Hejny Method is based on respecting the 12 key principles that make up this comprehensive concept allowing children to discover mathematics on their own and with pleasure. It builds on 40 years of experimental work and puts into practice historical notions that have been occurring throughout the history of mathematics since the time of Ancient Egypt.
It is based on students' real life experience and the joy resulting from achievement. It facilitates the development of logical thinking, creativity, and the ability to think in context, all of these being competences that increase students' chances to succeed in other subjects, in their future studies, and later in life as well.
We organize various informative and educational events to present and demonstrate the Hejny Method, e.g. interactive courses for teachers and parents, open classrooms, conferences, and summer schools.
